Letter from Seller of 961 woodgrove lane, san jose:

Dear Buyers,

We wanted to share with you what makes the Thousand Oaks Neighborhood and Woodgrove Lane so special to us.

We moved into this neighborhood almost 15 years ago. We chose this neighborhood for the access to 2 parks that include playground structures. At the time we had a very active 3 year old who loved playing and exploring the parks. The Pinehurst Cabana/Swim Club is just across Pearl Ave and they offer swim lessons, pool fun days, and they even have a competitive swim team. Our family spent many hours enjoying the beautiful pool and our son learned to swim with dedicated coaches. We also enjoyed strolling around the parks and neighborhoods and getting to know new neighbors. This is a caring, helpful community of people and you always meet a friendly face and a wave as you stroll by the homes. The neighborhood also affords an easy walk to Almaden Plaza, Bass Pro Shop, Sprouts, Safeway, CVS, Erik’s Deli, and many more restaurants.

The neighborhood offers its own Thousand Oaks Park Association where neighbors can meet and discuss issues or help organize the famous Fourth of July Parade. Our neighborhood hosts the famous, annual Fourth of July Picnic. We have been featured in the Mercury News as well as local television stations! This tradition began many years ago and includes a homemade pie and/or cake contest, a parade of old vintage cars, decorated trailers showcasing a theme for a family or block, children on their bikes with red, white, and blue ribbons, and an opportunity to meet more of the neighbors as you do the “walk about” around the parks. The parade walk begins and ends at Thousand Oaks Park.  Our very own Fire Station 13 is waiting for everyone to finish the parade walk as they have their ultimate “surprise” for everyone. The children anxiously await, as well as, those young at heart when the fire hose magically brings “rain” and a “cool down” to all, and the smiles and cheers sums up the beginning of a beautiful, patriotic day.

We bought our home in 2006 and have enjoyed customizing the home to meet our needs. We first upgraded the kitchen in 2011, by adding new cabinets, countertop, and backsplash. We also added the side bar with glass cabinets to showcase beautiful glasses, plates, or mugs. In 2015, we remodeled both our bathrooms with walk in showers and used marble in the shower with glass doors. In 2017, we focused on our yard by adding a brick seating area in the back, new grass with sprinklers, and expanded our backyard playing area by adding a basketball hoop in the side yard. Our son and his friends have had endless hours of playtime in the safety of our yard. In 2019, to address some of the settling during our ownership we had licensed contractors put in additional piers and support jacks in the crawl space. Finally, we concluded our remodeling by adding engineered hardwood floor and porcelain tile in the bathrooms and kitchen, as well as, completing our window treatment with plantation shutters throughout our home.

Recently, we have updated the lighting by adding recessed lights in the kitchen, living room, entry way, and hallway. We have a beautiful wall mounted 75 inch “Smart TV” in the living room which will stay with this home. Over the almost 15 years in the house, we have added air conditioning, a new heater, newer roofing, newer plumbing, and all appliances have been updated. In total we’ve invested over $250,000 worth of upgrades into our home.

As you can see, we love our home on Woodgrove Lane. It is hard for us to leave this neighborhood and our friends as we relocate but we sincerely hope that you will create as many wonderful memories here as we have!

The Maloney Family
